Each subject has specific credits, based on the number of lecture and tutorial classes conducted. To get your cgpa first you should know the credit of each subject taught to you. There can be obtained from the institute website. For example, if maths has 3 lectures and 2 tuts a week, then the credit for maths is 3+0.5X2 = 4
then find out your pointer in all subjects. The pointer is assigned as 10 for marks >85, 9 for >75, 8 for >65, 6 for >50, 4 for >40.
Then the next step is multiply your subject pointer by your credit for the subject. Do this for all the subjects taught including the theory and practicals, and sum up all the products. Say this is A.

Now sum up the credits of all the subjects taught to you. Let this be B.

Your cgpa for the semester is c=A/B.
